We started live streaming the Defending the Faith conference last night and things went well… until they didn\’t. Just a little while into the stream our Mi-Fi device decided to power off. That\’s very bad, since that device is the only link between the streaming computer and the internet. If it\’s down, it\’s all down.
New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary\’s annual Defending the Faith conference starts today. Tactical Faith has partnered with NOBTS this year to live stream the conference for those who cannot attend in person. The sessions begin with Doug Groothuis tonight at 7:00pm.
It\’s going to be a busy start to 2014 for Tactical Faith. In addition to pushing out the new website this past week, we\’ve got 3 events in the span of just a few weeks:
Dr. Alan Carter spoke to us at the grassroots weekend at Matt\’s house about his view of Apologetics. It was great to hear his views and listen to the back and forth that it generated amongst the group. Alan studied philosophy under Alvin Plantinga at Notre Dame, so we value his opinions on such things immensely.
In our ongoing effort to help bridge the gap between apologetic/theological resources and churches, we at Tactical Faith created a new position within our organization. Per board decision, we introduce Rev. Mark A Hutton as our first Pastoral Fellow at Tactical Faith.
Dr. Richard Howe Dr. Richard G. Howe has taught courses in philosophy at the University of Mississippi, Mississippi State University, Marquette University and the University of Arkansas. He has a B.A. in Bible from Mississippi College, an M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Mississippi and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Arkansas.
