The Prophet Isaiah’s Theology of History

Dr. Sansom will be examining chapters 13-23 of the book of Isaiah and will draw from them how the prophet looks at the history of nations. He will then contrast Isaiah’s account with several modern philosophies of history. The basic contrast is drama versus progress.  Dr. Dennis Sansom taught philosophy and religion at Samford University for 34 years, retiring in May 2022 as Chair of the Department of Philosophy. He continues to write and participate in the scholarly community as well as teaching part time at Samford University. He is presently working on a book examining Isaiah.
