Symposium
As a part of the the Lyle W. Dorsett Inklings Conference 2026: C.S. Lewis and the Threshold of Tomorrow: Humanity and Our Place in the Cosmos (May 9, 2026), we are hosting a Symposium on “C.S. Lewis and the Future of Humanity” (Friday and Saturday, May 8-9, 2026)
- Friday, May 8 from 12:00p- to 6:00p
- Saturday, May 9 from 8:00a to 3:00p
Call for Papers:
We welcome abstract submissions of up to 500 words on any topic of interest to Christian philosophy. While submission of papers on topics of all areas of interest to Christian philosophy is encouraged, those related to the conference theme or engaging with C.S. Lewis’ work will be given priority.
Potential areas of interest:
- The ethics of technological developments, particularly AI and human augmentation, transhumanism, and related matters.
- The place of teleology in the modern world, particularly as relates to our understanding of human nature, virtue, and ethics.
- Space vs. the Heavens: The relationship between the spiritual and natural worlds, material and immaterial worlds, dualism, consciousness, and metaphysics more generally.
- The limits of scientific investigation for our understanding of the world.

Notification of Acceptance: January 31, 2026
